Cafe Mogador Passerbuys

Breakfast At Cafe Mogador

July 17, 2017 in food and drinks

“Since the opening of their first location in the East Village in 1983, Cafe Mogador has been known (and loved) in New York for its Moroccan-inspired cuisine.”

In the 30 years since, they've opened a second outpost in Williamsburg, and remained a standby despite New York's ever-changing restaurant scene. Showing up in the recommendations of passersby like Syvan Mandel, Cara Flaherty, Jasmine Imani, and Nicole Hokayem, I headed over to Cafe Mogador's original cafe in the East Village for some breakfast.

If you can't manage to snag a sidewalk table outside the restaurant (I couldn't), the inside is just as lovely. With a kitschy array of artwork on the walls and the unmatched tables that are scattered throughout the space, the vibe is eclectic and comfortable.

The menu at Cafe Mogador offers a plentiful selection of classic and modern Moroccan dishes to choose from, regardless of what time of day you're stopping by. From their breakfast menu, I ordered the Moroccan Eggs, which came with a platter of hummus and tabouli, plus some za'atar to smear all the above onto. Simple but delicious, my eggs were the perfect meal to start the day.
